No Man's Sky will be a Voyage into the Cosmos

Explore the universe in No Man's Sky
There are countless stars in our universe, but only a small selection is visible in the night sky. As such, we are tiny, a mere dab of dust in an unimaginably enormous cosmos that contains billions of solar systems within vast galaxies.

Indeed, it seems Hello Games know we are all part of something incomprehensible, and with their upcoming release, No Man's Sky, they want us all to go on a voyage into the stars. The galactic map in No Man's Sky is gigantic, with each beacon of light signifying a star. That star is part of a solar system contained within a galaxy; each galaxy includes multiple solar systems, all with numerous planets of different origin.

Ultimately, to give you an idea of the scale of No Man's Sky, it would take roughly 5 billion years to visit each planet in the game for one second!

Additionally, No Man's Sky will be a massive online community of intergalactic explorers. Ultimately, the goal is to reach the centre of the universe, but there may also be confrontations to partake in, depending on what kind of player you're going to be.

While it will allow you to travel into the depths of space, it will also allow you to catalogue a number of unique life forms, as you set foot on each planet you discover. You can extract resources from the worlds you visit, but if you disrupt the native inhabitants too much, sentinels will engage you in combat, which may force you to defend yourself, depending on what course of action you wish to take.

The latest bit of gameplay from No Man's Sky was showcased at PlayStation Experience, as Hello Games' Sean Murray sat down with Sony President Shuhei Yoshida. See video below.

No Man's Sky is a very ambitious project that has the potential to be something very special, especially if the game's final execution, matches its ambition.

With this in mind, I cannot wait to begin my voyage into the stars.
