Devil May Cry HD Collection Review - A unique series worth revisiting

Devil May Cry HD Collection Review
Value for money - 7.5 / 10
Created in 2001, Devil May Cry has somewhat of an interesting development story. Initially thought of as a Resident Evil title, it didn't take long for director Hideki Kamiya to realise that the fixed camera view synonymous with past Resident Evil games didn't suit his upcoming hack and slash project.

After lengthy discussions that culminated in a brief visit to Europe; it's there where Kamiya and his team photographed ancient buildings and statues. On his return home and armed with these new compositions, Kamiya tried to combine gothic stylistics and fast-paced gameplay mechanics into what was supposedly still a Resident Evil game.

Shadow of the Colossus Review

Shadow of the Colossus Review
Keep on Climbin' - 4.6 / 5
Initially released in 2005 for the PlayStation 2 and then re-released in high definition six years later on the PlayStation 3; Shadow of the Colossus returns to Sony’s latest console for a third outing courtesy of developers Bluepoint Games.
Now, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t excited about one of the greatest games ever made getting a facelift for the PlayStation 4. After all, even though some twelve years have passed since it first graced our screens, we can now enjoy this work of art in all the glory of dynamic 4K.
And although the visual splendour alone is enough to warrant a purchase of this timeless classic; the emotionally investing story fused with the gorgeous soundtrack elevates Shadow of the Colossus alongside some of the PS4’s best games.

Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens Review - Plenty of fun for all ages

Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens Review
Block wars - 4/5
Charming, engaging and most importantly, fun, Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens is another excellent entry in the Lego franchise.
Much like previous Lego movie tie-ins, Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens closely follows last year's sci-fi blockbuster adding a little cheesy Lego humour and extra scenes along the way. Pleasantly, before the main story begins, you get to revisit the last thirty minutes of Return of the Jedi, including Han, Chewie, and Leia’s mission on Endor, Darth’s redemption on the Death Star and Lando Calrissian getting “a little too close” as he heads to the superstation's reactor.

Hitman Episode 3: Marrakesh Review

Hitman Episode 3: Marrakesh Review
Marrakesh doesn't build upon episode 2  - 3.4/5
The latest chapter of the Hitman series sees Agent 47 head to Morocco to eliminate dodgy banker Claus Strandberg and corrupt army General Reza Zaydan.
Much like the previous two episodes, episode 3’s mission briefing is pretty intense. Marrakesh is on the verge of a revolution and a political conspiracy is unfolding thanks to an army general mounting a military coup and a Swedish banker embezzling some serious wonga. Your job is quite simple: assassinate the pair of them.

Hitman Episode 2: Sapienza Review

Hitman Episode 2 PS4 Review
Grab your sunnies! - 4/5
With interesting buildings, breathtaking ocean views and sweeping vistas, the Italian coastal town setting of Hitman Episode 2 is indeed a visual treat. Agent 47 swaps the smart attire we last saw him don at the fashion show in Paris for some casual wear as he seeks to infiltrate a villa housing two scientists responsible for a nasty DNA-targeting virus.

While the gameplay mechanisms are exactly the same as episode 1; it’s the second entry in the series that feels more like the Hitman experience that the developers are trying to portray. Although the previous instalment was an excellent introduction to the franchise for those unfamiliar with the bald-headed protagonist, it’s this latest episode that makes you want to try all the assassination techniques at your disposal.

Hitman Episode 1: Intro Pack Review

Hitman PS4 Review
Almost a hit! 3.5/5
The elite assassin, Agent 47 is back once again with the latest instalment of the stealth-action adventure series - Hitman: Intro Pack. This time, though, 47's story unfolds in the form of episodes, with the first chapter featuring two tutorials and an assassination mission set in Paris.
Serving as both a prologue and a sequel to 2012's Hitman: Absolution, the introduction, set in a training facility on a boat in Sydney, is primarily a tutorial for those unfamiliar with the series. It’s here where you get to grips with the gameplay mechanics, learn how to incapacitate guards and disguise yourself as you hide bodies.

Gravity Rush Remastered Review

Gravity Rush Remastered
Gravity Rush is well worth your time - 8/10
Hekseville is a hell of a place to wake up. But that’s just what happens to Gravity Rush Remastered’s heroine Kat, a girl who finds herself stranded in the otherworldly city with no memory of how she got there.
Dazed and confused, it’s in Hekseville she meets a strange black cat called Dusty, who gives her the power to manipulate gravity, allowing her to fly and walk on walls. But it’s not all physics-defying fun for Kat, as she has to protect Hekseville from the monstrous Nevi and gain the trust of the people - not to mention piecing together how and why she has come to this strange city in the first place.

Vanquish PS3
Futuristic sci-fi action mayhem!
Available on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, Vanquish is a third-person futuristic shooter directed by Shinji Mikami and published by Sega. Eventually released in October 2010, after being in development since 2007; you play US agent Sam Gideon in a futuristic battle where nations fight for what's left of the Earth's natural resources. Vanquish begins with Russian forces capturing the American Space Station, and diverting its solar energy to create a powerful Death Star-esque weapon. They then demonstrate the weapon's power by destroying San Francisco in an epic blast of energy. The main antagonist, Victor Zaitsev, demands the US surrender or New York City is next in line for obliteration. Predictably, the US retaliates to the catastrophe and declares war. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt PS4 Review

The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt Review
A masterpiece - 10 / 10
Engulfed in a devastating war with a reminder of its tragic and bloody consequences via every turn, the setting of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is as jaw-droppingly beautiful, as it is menacing and dark.

In this open-world role-playing adventure you play as Geralt of Rivia, a Witcher travelling off the beaten path to find a young Witcher in training named Ciri. However, you're not the only one in pursuit of the would-be Witcher, as a dominant force of spectres known as the Wild Hunt is also tracking her every move.

E3 2015: Latest News on Dishonored 2 and Dishonored Definitive Edition

E32015 Dishonored 2 PS4
Dishonored 2 was announced at E3 2015
Dishonored 2 was announced at the Bethesda E3 2015 games conference in Los Angeles this weekend. The stealth action-adventure sequel will return Spring 2016 and be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

The Dishonored 2 story sees the fate of the isles once again in jeopardy thanks to an otherworldly usurper seizing the throne. To regain control Dunwall, you take the role of protagonist Corvo Attano. However, the game will mainly centre around Emily Kaldwin, the rightful heir to the throne from the previous game. Both assassins will be playable and will feature their own unique sets of powers, weapons, and gadgets.

The original Dishonored received over 100 'Game of the Year' awards back in 2012 and judging by Arkane Studios' debut trailer, there are plenty of reasons to be excited about its arrival next year.

GTA V (Grand Theft Auto 5) PS4 Review

GTA V (Grand Theft Auto 5) PS4 Review
Masterpiece! GTA V PS4 review
Unless you've spent the last 12 months on Mars with your eyes closed and fingers in your ears then you know all about GTA V already. The greatest open-world game of all time has returned with a remastered edition for the next generation of consoles courtesy of Rockstar North.

Never before has the American dream seemed as real than when you're visiting the city of Los Santos. GTA V returns graphically polished and with the inclusion of a first-person mode making it a new experience to enjoy. The sun-soaked beaches of Los Santos, through to the towering skyscrapers and rolling hills that cover this huge open world are all essentially the same as they were on the last gen but now have a sharper, sleeker execution.

Far Cry 4 PS4 Review

Far Cry 4 PS4 Review
Elephants! Far Cry 4 PS4 review
Hiding amongst the foliage, stalking the enemy outpost, I circle its perimeter looking for entry points and weaknesses. As I traverse through the high grass, taking cover behind every towering tree I encounter, I produce my binoculars to get a closer look and to tag each enemy on my map to make my attack easier. Now I know their positions...
I spot a cage containing a ferocious tiger and immediately decide how I’m going to strike. I unleash my rifle, line it up, and take aim. Fire!

The cage door is released and the deadly predator is set free. It attacks the enemy soldiers and dispenses with each one brutally. I come in from the opposite direction, guns blazing, and wipe out the entire outpost with ease, not before I fire a few rounds into my predatory friend as he looks to make me his next victim.
Sound familiar?

Lords of the Fallen PS4 Review

Lords of the Fallen PS4 Review
A Dark Souls rip off? Lords of the Fallen PS4 review
At first glance, it’s easy to compare Lords of the Fallen to the highly successful Dark Souls series. Similarities yes, but a carbon copy? No. To say, developers, Deck13 Interactive and CI Games have ripped off Dark Souls would be a grave disservice to Lords of the Fallen as it is very much its own game.

After playing Lords of the Fallen for an extended period of time, you will notice that although the temples, catacombs, demons and general atmospherics bring back memories of Dark Souls, there are still plenty of original ideas that make it a game worth checking out.
