Coming this week - Dante in HD

Devil May Cry HD Collection
How does the original DMC shape up on the PS4?
Coming this week to Unlocked Gaming is a review of Devil May Cry HD collection and my thoughts on Kratos' return in God of War.

On Wednesday 14th March, Impulse Gamer gave me the opportunity to go to an exclusive hands-on experience in Sydney with God of War and later on this week, I'll be sharing my thoughts on the game.

So, check back later this week!

Coming This Week - Batman: Arkham Knight Review

Batman Arkham Knight
I'm Batman!
Coming this week on Unlocked Gaming, I'll be posting my review of Batman: Arkham Knight. The Joker is gone, but that doesn't mean the Caped Crusader isn't busy with the rest of Arkham's crazed criminals.

My initial thoughts of the game have been extremely positive so far. Being able to finally get behind the wheel of the legendary Batmobile has given the series a fresh perspective, although many of the mechanics in the game are carbon copies of previous instalments.

However, the similarities of Batman: Arkham Knight to its predecessors certainly isn't a negative thing, as overall, the Arkham series has been outstanding.

For a full review check back later this week!

Microsoft's E3 2015 Redemption

Microsoft Xbox One E3 2015
The Xbox One is now backwards compatible with 360
Almost two years since the Xbox One was first announced, Microsoft finally brought some big guns to the table at their E3 2015 game conference.

Xbox had a pretty strong E3 in 2014, but this weekend's showcase announced that they are serious about trying to win back consumers. It's fair to say Sony destroyed Microsoft when both the PS4 and Xbox One were announced in 2013. With Microsoft implementing features such as DRM and adding restrictions to play used games, many of Xbox's loyal fans 'defected' to the PlayStation 4.

Mass Effect: Andromeda - A New Trilogy?

Mass Effect Andromeda Trilogy
Mass Effect Andromeda won't be the last in the series
E3 2015 had an abundance of huge announcements over the weekend. Two of the biggest were Fallout 4 and Mass Effect: Andromeda.

A New Trilogy?

The Mass Effect: Andromeda trailer debuted at the EA games conference and featured an armoured N-7 soldier navigating a galaxy map, looking through all kinds of different planets.

Developer BioWare has confirmed on their official site that while Mass Effect 3: Citadel was being completed, plans had already begun for the next instalment in the series. So far we know Mass Effect: Andromeda will take place far away from, and long after the original trilogy. A new galaxy to explore, A new Mako to pilot, and a host of new characters to meet have all been confirmed. It would be safe to assume that Andromeda is going to be more of the same that we saw with the original Mass Effect games, but what else can we expect to see?

3 of the Best Announcements from Ubisoft at E3 2015

Ubisoft E32015
3 Important announcements from Ubisoft at E3
In addition to The Division, South Park, and For Honor, Ubisoft announced a host of titles at E3. Below we run through our three favourites from the bunch.

Rainbow Six Siege

From September 24, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The full game will be available on October 13, and Xbox One owners will have Rainbow Six Vegas 1 & 2 included for free! Fans of the Rainbow Six series will also be pleased to hear that Terrorist Hunt mode has returned to multiplayer. The latest trailer showed us that the shooter has had a bit of a graphical polish as seen in the video below.

The Division - Delayed Again

The Division Ubisoft E32015
The Division is landing March 8, 2016
Ubisoft showcased The Division again during their games conference at E3 over the weekend. The upcoming instalment in the Tom Clancy series finally has a release date of March 8, 2016.

The game was expected to be released in 2014 but has kept being pushed back for various reasons by developers Red Storm Entertainment, Ubisoft Reflections, Ubisoft Massive, and Ubisoft Annecy. The open-world RPG has been eagerly anticipated since it was first announced, with several trailers highlighting the game's extensive multiplayer mode and gorgeous visuals.

Even though The Division has been pushed back, it is admirable that Ubisoft didn't release the game until it was ready, meaning they won't have to deal with an angry backlash from disgruntled consumers furious that they had released a bugged game. Of course, it's now in Ubisoft's best interests to make sure any issues with the game are completely ironed out before its release in March next year.

E3 2015: For Honor - What We Know So Far

Ubisoft For Honor Trailer
For Honor looks to take combat on the battlefield to new heights
For Honor is a new IP that premiered at E3, showcased by Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot. The third-person melee combat game is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and PC.

For Honor will blend together speed, strategy and team play as you cause mayhem fighting as three great warrior legacies, Vikings, Knights, and Samurai. The game features an extensive multiplayer mode that will require you to master the ART OF BATTLE system that is promised to engage you into hyper realistic battles and conflicts.

The For Honor trailer was set on a historic battlefield, in a 4v4, 2 teams multiplayer mode called Dominion. One team was attacking certain zones of the map, while the other was defending. The ART OF BATTLE combat system was in full effect, with a heavy emphasis on positioning and defence when fighting. Each of your strikes in attack can be carefully planned as you are able to select which side to hit of your opponent via the right stick of your controller.

E3 2015: Ubisoft - South Park: Stick of Truth Sequel

E32015 Ubisoft Stick of Truth Sequel
C'mon down to South Park!
South Park: The Fractured But Whole was announced during Ubisoft's E3 game conference over the weekend, with creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone taking to the stage to reveal the debut trailer.

The newest edition to the South Park video game series is the follow up to the successful South Park: The Stick of Truth and will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

The game will be a RPG, turn-based combat adventure like its predecessor, and put you in control of a new character. The story will focus on Cartman's "The Coon" and friends, with Trey and Matt once again involved in the writing and voice acting.

Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny will no doubt be up to more mischief as you deal with life at South Park Elementary.

E3 2015: 3 Big Announcements from Sony's Press Conference

E32015 The Last Guardian Final Fantasy 7 COD 3
The Last Guardian was trailer was revealed at E3
In addition to Horizon: Zero Dawn Sony's E3 2015 game conference paraded a host of upcoming additions to its already first class roster of titles. Below we have a run through of The Last Guardian, Final Fantasy VII, and Call of Duty: Black Ops III.

The Last Guardian

Finally, after years of development hell, Sony gave us a first glimpse PlayStation exclusive The Last Guardian. The game had originally been intended to be released on PS3 back in 2007. Director Fumito Ueda proudly sat in the audience as the trailer showcased the story of a young boy and his giant feathered friend. The setting of the adventure looked beautiful but we cannot expect anything less from the director who is responsible for Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. The Last Guardian is expected to be released sometime in 2016.

E3 2015: Sony - Horizon: Zero Dawn Trailer Thoughts

E3 2015 Sony Horizon Zero Dawn Trailer
Killzone developer Guerrilla Games showcased their latest project at the Sony E3 game conference this weekend with PlayStation exclusive, Horizon: Zero Dawn.

Undoubtedly one of Sony's most popular announcements at E3, we've had a detailed look at the Horizon trailer, and we are going to share a few thoughts on the upcoming open-world adventure.

The trailer began with a women searching a cave looking at a past civilisation that had left markings scattered throughout its walls. The narrator went on to explain how "the old ones" had throughout history gone from cave dwellers to building "incredible cities and towers that reached for the stars". And that "darkness came and the cities faded away".

E3 2015: Fallout 4 - Latest News and Thoughts

Fallout 4 E32015 Xbox One PS4 PC
"I don't want to set the world on fire"
The big news of the E3 2015 Bethesda games conference was the announcement that Fallout 4 was going to be on the shelves November 10, 2015. The latest post-apocalyptic open-world adventure will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

The newest instalment in the Fallout series will be set in Boston, Massachusetts, and will begin before the bombs fell. We didn't see much of the nuclear holocaust from the trailer, but we can expect it to be something quite spectacular. Think the Megaton destruction in Fallout 3, only bigger! The story will see a complete overhaul of the customisation system that gamers are familiar with from the Fallout series and feature the ability to be able to enhance and sculpt specific facial parts of your character. Whether you are male or female, it seems Bethesda Game Studios have every aspect covered in regards to making the game as personal as it can be.

E3 2015: Latest News on Dishonored 2 and Dishonored Definitive Edition

E32015 Dishonored 2 PS4
Dishonored 2 was announced at E3 2015
Dishonored 2 was announced at the Bethesda E3 2015 games conference in Los Angeles this weekend. The stealth action-adventure sequel will return Spring 2016 and be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

The Dishonored 2 story sees the fate of the isles once again in jeopardy thanks to an otherworldly usurper seizing the throne. To regain control Dunwall, you take the role of protagonist Corvo Attano. However, the game will mainly centre around Emily Kaldwin, the rightful heir to the throne from the previous game. Both assassins will be playable and will feature their own unique sets of powers, weapons, and gadgets.

The original Dishonored received over 100 'Game of the Year' awards back in 2012 and judging by Arkane Studios' debut trailer, there are plenty of reasons to be excited about its arrival next year.

E3: Doom is Coming!

E3 2015 Doom PS4 Xbox One PC
Doom was announced at E3 2015
Bethesda announced at their first ever E3 games news conference that popular franchise Doom is returning spring 2016 courtesy of developer id Software. The game will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

The classic first-person shooter was showcased at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, and will include an abundance of demons, big guns, and fast paced action.

The latest inclusion in the Doom series featured everything that made it so much fun back in the '90s - Ultraviolence! With the Super Shotgun and the chainsaw getting plenty of screentime. It is believed that Doom will most likely be a reboot of the original and not a continuation of the story we last saw in 2005. In addition to the single-player campaign, Doom will also feature multiplayer, with games such as Domination, Clan Arena, and Freeze Tag.
